As South Ayrshire council concludes its public consultation on its proposed new residential unit in Maybole, 2 young people who’ve been in care in Ayrshire have been speaking to the Ayrshire Post about their positive experiences of the care system, describing the misperceptions about residential units and the young people who benefit from them. The challenge now to South Ayrshire residents is to see these young people, not as a burden, but as an important part of our society and deserving of the same opportunities and support as any other young people.
